Shana Bender

Sinusitis
“I had been sick with sinus infections for over two years and was prescribed steroids, but that didn’t work. Dr. Oshinsky did surgery for a deviated septum and since then I haven’t been sick. Dr. Oshinsky has great bedside manner, and he was truthful about my options and explained the side effects of surgery so I knew exactly what to expect. I know other people who used other doctors for the same surgery and they didn’t heal as quickly as I did. They also continued to get sinus infections over time. I think Dr. Oskinsky has a great personality and is very skillful and caring.”

Victoria Schassler

Sinusitis
“I think Dr. Oshinsky is a caring and compassionate physician. Dr. Oshinsky took such time with me to find out what was going on. I never felt rushed. He worked with me to determine the best course of action with my symptoms. He performed sinus surgery for my sinus infections, and it changed my life. I didn’t even realize I wasn’t breathing well through my nose before the surgery. Now my sinus symptoms are gone and I feel so great. It was such an overall good experience. I never felt my questions weren’t valid. I wouldn’t hesitate to refer Dr. O; he’s a great doctor. And his team was wonderful too.”

Ear Infections
“Dr. Oshinsky is very friendly, and he’s always smiling. We have been coming to Dr. Oshinsky for some time. He removed my daughter Nina’s tonsils when she was eight and now she’s 17. Now he sees my daughter Morgan, who’s seven, for ear infections. She really likes it that he speaks to her directly, and makes sure that she understands what’s going on. I appreciate it that he takes the time to teach my little one. I would recommend Dr. Oshinsky because he’s very knowledgeable, and calls to check back on you.”

Robert Walker

Obstructive Sleep Apnea
“Dr. Oshinsky is an excellent doctor. He’s funny, personable, sincere, and he gets involved in the life of his patient. The first time I went to him was due to a severe nose bleed. He got me in for an appointment right away. He cauterized the artery and that’s how our relationship started. He did a complete history on me and found out that I had a sore throat and I snored. He sent me for a sleep study and I found out I had acute obstructive sleep apnea. Dr. Oshinsky is a good diagnostician and a good listener. He explained lifestyle changes, like diet and exercise, that I needed to make to live a healthy life. There is no question that he cares.”

Denise Norfleet Walker

Acid Reflux Disease
“Dr. Oshinsky treated me for acid reflux disease. When he first saw me two years ago he was very concerned. He approached me with care and love. He didn’t paint a rosy picture; he took me by the hand and said, “This is what you need to do and why.”

You can trust what Dr. Oshinsky does. I have total faith in him. You can see the concern he has for you. If anything else needs to be done, he’s looking for ways to do that. He looks at options before he does surgery. He got me on the right road to better care for myself.”

Dr. Jay Goodman

Hearing Loss
“I’ve been seeing Alan for 30 years. I’m the retired Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Mercy Medical Center. When I was in practice, I recommended Alan to some patients whose symptoms couldn’t be figured out by anyone else. Alan diagnosed and treated them immediately. I always go to Alan; Alan is very bright. He isn’t likely to make mistakes, and I trust him when he has instruments in my ear.

Two months ago I went to Rachel and had a hearing test. She pointed out that my high frequency hearing was bad in both ears. She recommended that I get two hearing aids. I can control all aspects of my hearing from my Smart Phone. That is neat. The hearing aids also become a Blue Tooth. Alan is a find and Rachel is a professional. Their care has been excellent.”

Mabel Westley

Chronic Sore Throat and Tinnitus
“I’ve been seeing Dr. Showalter for three years and go every three months for a check-up for a chronic sore throat and ringing in the ears. Dr. Showalter is caring, concerned, patient, and she really listens; I just love her. I would recommend her to anybody. I have an appointment to see her tomorrow and I can’t wait to go. I know she’s going to take care of me. And her staff is wonderful. Denise is a great person and she’s kind. Shantanese is a nice person too. She takes my blood pressure. They’re a great bunch of people. I love them all. I give them a “10”.”

Margie Goldberg

Throat Cancer
“I found a lump on my throat one morning while I was in the shower, and went straight to Mercy Medical Center. I’ve been a patient there forever. It was the end of October, and by November 3rd I had cancer surgery on my throat. That was in 2000. My surgeon left Mercy and my primary care doctor referred me to Dr. Showalter, so I’ve been seeing her for 15 years.

At first I saw her every month, now I see her every six months. She’s very thorough; she scopes me down the nose and the throat.

We have become very close, and I like her very much. She is awesome. She’s a very good, warmhearted person. She’s very caring; she even calls me at home to see how I am. I’ve become friends with the whole office, and they treat me like family.

Susan treats me like one of her sisters. She said, “If you need to get away from the house, I’ll come and get you.” She was there when I had surgery, and she’s been there for me ever since.”

Dr. Leonard Rosenthal

Tinnitus
“When I first developed tinnitus about seventeen years ago, I looked on the web for experts who treat it, and Dr. Oshinsky’s name came up. He has been trained by an expert in the field of Tinnitus Retraining Therapy. I wore a tinnitus device on each ear (like an ear plug). It’s a device that counters tinnitus noise.

During my next check up, a year later, Rachel did a hearing test and said I needed hearing aids. She fitted me for one in each ear, and now I don’t wear the tinnitus device.

Dr. Oshinsky is very compassionate and in tune with tinnitus. I like it that he has available hours that are convenient for me, and he’s a gentleman. The first time I saw him, he spent seven hours with me explaining what tinnitus is and how to overcome it.

I like the whole operation; Dr. Oshinsky and Rachel are a great team. They are the reason I come back.”
