“Many of my patients come in telling me ‘I have sinus.’ It is quite possible that some of the symptoms they have are problems with the nose. Symptoms of a nasal problem require careful examination and testing, including x-rays and allergy evaluation. This will give us the proper diagnosis and the proper treatment. Initial treatment might include antibiotics, topical sprays, or steroids. If this treatment isn’t effective, the patient might need sinus surgery such as Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) or Balloon Sinoplasty.”
